What services does the sauna business offer?We provide authentic wood-fired sauna experiences, changing huts for privacy, a refreshing lake at the Fallen Willow Sauna, and plunge baths and showers at the Woodland Sauna for cold contrast therapy.

What time should I arrive before my session?Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your booked session to allow time for a briefing. Note, arriving late will shorten your sauna. 5 minutes has been added, to include time for changing.

What is your cancellation policy?Cancellation times for refunds or credit: 48 hrs notice: Full refund or transfer 24 hrs notice: Transfer only (no refunds) Private bookings: one week's notice Please contact info@tuhkatalo.com to reschedule or cancel your booking.

Do I need to bring my own towels and swimwear?Yes, we recommend bringing 2 towels (one to dry with and one to sit on), swimwear, water and any personal items you may need during your visit.

Are there facilities for changing and showering?Yes, we have basic changing huts for privacy before and after your sauna session. We have a cold shower onsite at the Woodland Sauna.

Are there any toilet facilities?There are currently no designated toilet facilities at The Fallen Willow Sauna; the nearest toilet is at Black Chalk Winery (www.blackchalkwine.co.uk) where you can enjoy a tasty refreshment before or after your sauna. The Woodland Sauna has a compost toilet on-site.

Can I put water on the stove?Yes you can add water to the stove... this is the best part of your authentic sauna experience to raise the humidity. But please drizzle water with caution, as it temporarily adds extra warmth to the sauna, consulting other members of the sauna before you do so. NOTE, excessive dumping of water on the stove can take the "heat" out of it, and therefore potentially cooling down the sauna.

What is the recommended duration for sauna and cold water sessions?We suggest 10-20 minutes in the sauna followed by a brief cold plunge, repeating this cycle as desired, while listening to your body's signals.

How do the plunge baths and lake work?The plunge baths and lake are designed for cold water immersion after sauna sessions, helping to enhance circulation and provide a refreshing contrast to the heat.

Is the lake at the Fallen Willow Sauna safe for swimming?Yes, the lake is regularly maintained and monitored for safety, but we encourage caution and awareness of personal swimming abilities. The lake is also ground-fed and not connected to our polluted rivers.

What are the benefits of using a sauna with cold contrast therapy?Alternating between heat and cold can improve circulation, boost the immune system, reduce muscle soreness, and promote relaxation and more benefits.

Can I host private events or group sessions?Yes, we offer options for private bookings and group sessions. Please contact us for more details and arrangements. We also have an events tent at the Woodland Sauna to host your own personalised event.

What should I know about health considerations before using the sauna?It's advisable to consult with a healthcare professional if you have any medical conditions or concerns. Stay hydrated and listen to your body's limits during sessions.

What's the minimum age limit you allow?The minimum age is 16. Under 18's to be accompanied by an adult.

Am I able to bring my dog onsite?We love our furry friends, but we have a no dog policy.

Can I use the sauna after my swimming lesson with Test Valley Open Water Swimming?A quick warm-up is offered after a swim to those booked with Iain Derrick from Test Valley Open Water Swimming. If booking a full 60 minute sauna with your swim, use your discount code when booking the sauna. Please contact Iain Derrick at testvalleyswimming@gmail.com to book your swimming lesson.
